How to Publish an Article Online
Author: Kenji Sakamoto
So you want to publish an article online. Well it is a rather easy thing to do, if you are so inclined. The internet has made things easier and easier, which really does help your cause. The first thing to do, of course, is to have an idea of what you want to write. Figure out what you want to write before you set pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard.
Second, your article must be well written. Do not take publishing an article online lightly. If anything, you should take it more seriously than even print writing. With print, your words will eventually fade and disappear along with the paper they were printed on. However, when you publish an article online, the article will remain as long as there is an internet, which is bound to be as long as modern civilization is sustained. People may be reading your words for thousands upon thousands of years.
The third thing to do is to find a website that will publish your article online. A great place to start is Wikipedia, if you are inclined towards the encyclopedic. Or you may publish on such places as eHow, wikihow, or ezine. These are great places for you to get published online for the first time.
As with all things, your reputation is your most important asset when seeking to publish an article online. You would to well to take all your writing seriously so that you can build up this reputation and maintain it.

There are some sites that don’t allow copying and pasting, but I am positive that costs money. So I think you would be better with a copyright license.
If it is good poetry, Write More! See if a publishing company wants to publish it. However, if its realy personal, then you may just want to be proud of it.
It really depends on what you are attempting to get for your efforts.
If you want to post poems to the internet without a critique or feedback, then you can start a blog for free and tell all your friends and family about it.
If you want qualified critiques or feedback, then you should go to alsopreview.com, most of the writers there are published and will be honest with you, albeit without sugar-coating.
hi aarthi…….i am not much aware of sites which encourage fresh poets, but know that there are many who would allow u to write on their sites. But that won’t be advisable as ur contents would merge with articles which are not worthy of mentioning and that wud spoil ur articles’ value.
I would suggest that u take up the responsibility of posting it online and u can create a website or blog exclusively for that. I too started a blog for my poems few months back. But i’m not able to concentrate on it nowadays………and also…its in tamil.

U might wanna start ur own blog. U can do that in http://www.blogger.com or other blogger sites. Do inform me in case u start it, coz i love poetry very much. In case u need help, mail me. :-)….All the best and take care yaar.
poets org is good.
Here is a link to some material on Kenneth Koch.
Good poets to compare with Koch might include Dorn, Ashberry, Eshleman, Olson.
But I am sure you can make your own ideas.
I’ve been writing and publishing poetry for over 15 years, and I have to tell you, poetry is not about money. Very few people read poetry, and even fewer people _buy_ poetry. Any place on the internet that claims they’ll give you money for posting your poems is HIGHLY likely to be a scam. Read the fine print carefully before you agree to post your work anywhere.
There are plenty of places online where you can post your poems — people even post their poems here on Yahoo Answers, in the Poetry section. Or you can get a Livejournal, Blogger, or Blogspot account and post your poems there.
But “fast cash” and “poetry” really don’t belong in the same sentence. Honest. I am not trying to pee on your party here; I’ve been in the “poetry business” for a long time, have published in some prestigious places, and it is just not about money. There’s no money in poetry. Write poetry because you love to — that’s really the only satisfaction it brings.
Good luck.
Like everyone has said, fictionpress is the best. It IS fanfic.net’s sister site, tehy are, lke, identcal only the fiction you write isn’t based off of other books, movies, ect. You can also create a blog, and let people comment on it.
Good luck!
That’s going to be up to your publisher, really.
If you were paid to have your poetry published online, then the answer is probably no. If you just threw it on there, they probably won’t care.
NO. You do not need to waste the money and effort on copyright. First off, there is no money to be made off the actual poems themselves, so you are throwing your money away. The copyright is implied and if your poem is published the publisher will take care of the copyrighting.
NEXT, never ever do as some have suggested here, and put a copyright symbol or the word copyright on the poems you are submitting. It is a sign of a complete rookie and you are asking the editor to consider you as such. Trust me, your poems are part of a huge “slush pile” and when an editor is deciding who to chose, you do not want them to question themselves on liking your poem, because they can clearly see you are a rookie. You want them to like the poem without question.
Pick up a copy of Poet’s Market for other things NOT to do when submitting work, to quote them on copyright: “Don’t point out the poem is copyrighted in your name or include the copyright symbol. All poems are automatically copyrighted in the poet’s name as soon as they’re ‘fixed’ (i.e. written down), and editors know this.
go to google and search “post poetry online free” and a lot of free online publishing offers will pop up, a lot of em for poetry. good luck 🙂
