Literary Agents Fiction Horror
Yes, You Can Make a Living as a Fiction Author
No matter what anyone says, it’s a great time to be a writer, especially fiction writer. You, YES you, can make a living as an author, but it will take four things: Quality, Marketing, Patience and Quantity. Can you do it? The only way to find out is to give it a try. What have you got to lose?
The other day I was reading a blog about fiction writing and authors. The blogger was bemoaning the fact that it’s tough for fiction writers to find a paying market today. There are fewer and fewer paying magazines and online e-zines that pay anything. The economy and current changes in technology are forcing book publishers, and even literary agents, to pass on many books and authors.

I’m in the same boat as you, and I can’t tell you anything but good luck and go to either Preditors and Editors (tells you bad and good agents and companies) or Literary Marketplace. But I’m looking for a really good agent too.
My question has a link to a woman with a really good answer, Maryn Bittner.
Where is a good place for literary agents?
I’m a writer and I’m looking for an agent for a vampire novel that I am writing. One, I think that the genre is horror, but I’ve been hearing that it’s fantasy/science fiction. What do you think. Where’s a good place to get a agent?
Which literary agents are really seeking out new fiction?
Looking to submit my fiction works: At the moment, two separate novels which make up the beginning of a suspense/horror series. Which agents are not overloaded at the moment, are legit, and most likely to look into my submission?

Be prepared for a lot of rejection. Vampires are saturating the market right now.
This link will answer any questions you have on the subject of publishing.

short story agents and publishers?
I love writing short stories and i have recently completed another one. I want to try and get it published but i can not seem to find a literary agent who can help me publish short stories. Does anyone know an agent who i can contact and try to get it published? Its about 22 A4 pages long (which i think is slightly to long for flash fiction :D) and its in the mystery/horror genre, fiction. Also does anyone else enjoy writing short stories? 😀
Hey you can publish your stories on http://www.wattpad.com or http://www.scribd.com absolutely FREE!
How do I go about selling short stories?
I have quite a few short stories I would like to sell. However, I have no idea how to go about doing so! The pieces span several genre’s including horror, mystery, romance, and science fiction. Should I get a literary agent for this (keep in mind they are all short stories)?
Get a copy of the Writer’s Market, look for specific magazines that might accept your genre, and submit by following their guidelines explicitly.
Check out magazines from a retail outlet that could accept your style and topic of writing.
Also consider locating a literary agent that might accept your genre and do the same. Chances of securing representation is slim to none, but you must start somewhere.
I wish you success, but expect a lot of rejections.
What’s the best place to start looking for a literary agent? Any and all tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I have finished the first draft of my book and I’m working on completing the “finished product” and I’m an unpublished author, I DO intend to write more than one book, my first is a fiction-fantasy novel… I intend to stay in that general genre and possibly crossover into a little gothic-horror type stuff at some point… I used google but the resource it gave me has a lot of outdated information.
Any help at all is greatly appreciated, thanks! 🙂
