Does anyone know any good Christian literary agents who like Appalachian women’s fiction?
And are actively looking for authors?
Visit http://www.agentquery.com or, at the library or bookstore, look for Jeff Herman’s Guide to Literary Agents, Writer’s Market 2010 or Bowker’s Literary Marketplace. When you find an agent who handles your genre, read, and follow, their submission guidelines.
Blech, don’t submit to Focus on the Family- at least, not if you want anyone to respect your writing. I mean, these are the people who went around saying that Spongebob Squarepants promoted the “homosexual agenda.”
To my knowledge, many of the largest publishing houses have smaller offshoots that specialize in different areas, including Christian fiction. I’d contact the major publishing houses and see what they have.
Does anyone know a good christian literary agent for women’s fiction?
Are the genres “Christian” and “Religious” different in fiction writing?
I’m looking for literary agents, and what I’ve written is a novel about a girl becoming a Christian. I haven’t found any agencies that offer to look at “Christian” novels, but I have found some willing to look at Religious fiction. Anyone care to help me out?
For significant American publishers, I think they would amount to about the same thing. I’m sure that Moslem or Buddhist religious novels do get published in societies where those faiths are predominant, but little or none is published here.
The only distinction that might exist is that most American companies that publish primarily religious novels come from a strong Protestant/Evangelical perspective, and many would not under any circumstances touch a work that’s from the Roman Catholic perspective. Some, by no means all, are actively hostile to Catholicism and regard it as not truly Christian. Religious fiction from a Mormon perspective would have similar problems, but there are publishers who will take it, and I have seen such books.
Anyway, if you find a house that does religious novels, go ahead and submit it. The worst that can happen is a rejection slip, and if you’re an unpublished writer trying to break in, you’d better be prepared to see those.
What are some good Christian literary agencys?
I need to find a reliable agent for the book I am writing. It is a christian historical romance, and it is fiction. HELP!!!
Here’s a link to some agents that will represent the Christian genre.

I found another good website here. http://www.wordserveliterary.com/
Does anyone know any literary agents/publishers intrested in christian fiction manuscripts?
UK based writer with several manuscripts also looking for publishers intested in short stories, inspirational poetry. Anyone read – Purple hibiscus by Chiamanda Adiche or Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe- anyone know of any publishers looking for a new African voice out there?
Try the most recent edition of Writer’s Digest, available in most book stores. Its categories includes “Christian” publishers and literary agents.
Add: Finding a “good” agent is harder than finding a willing publisher.
