Law of Attraction – Help You Get Through a Crisis Situation Part I
Author: Christine Wang
When everything falls apart…
The stock market is falling… our home’s value is falling… layoffs are increasing… the credit crisis is impacting the global economy… you feel your financial situation is getting worse… you feel unsecured and helpless… on top of that, you may have other relationship issues as well…
Law of Attraction (LOA) is working for and against you – positive and negative.
When we focus on the negative economic news and panic and then we stop trying… We will then make a bad economic situation worse.
Ask yourself …What are you looking for?
Maybe you took a job because you felt you needed to support yourself and you had no other choice. Instead of just settling for a job, try looking toward what others’ have tried for something better. Look inside yourself and those around you. Listen and watch the mistakes and successes of others’ and then decide if something they have addressed is something you need to change in your life and your reason for the change Don’t dismiss any opportunity, because one of those may take you to whatever you truly want. Don’t let your arrogance allow you to dismiss something “new” as something that’s “not right” for you. Don’t let procrastination disguise itself as optimism! Don’t just stand by, always take action towards your goals!
Re-Evaluate Your Current Situation.
In these tough financial times, evaluate your monthly budgeting needs.
One way to do this is to seek out assistance from state and local governments or charity organizations in your area. Another way is to cut down your living cost by cooking at home, volunteering for local farm, etc. Call and negotiate a discount on your interest rate with your credit card companies.
In the emotional stress situation.
Do something to distract your thoughts from the current situation, whether it is volunteering for good causes or just hanging out with friends and having fun.
Always take care of your self first, and try not to “worry yourself to death” about the future. Take a multi-vitamin, exercise, and increase time outside; make steps to become healthier to relieve stress and avoid weight gain.
Be Creative.
If you can’t sell the house, look at options such as rental exchanges, opt for leasing with options for the renter to purchase the home later.
If your job becomes more difficult or you lose your job, alter your thinking and take this time as an opportunity for you to look deep inside and reevaluate your career direction; consider alternatives to the path you are on currently.
If you always have new ideas, it is time to explore them.
If you like traveling, consider an international job. If you like to garden, volunteer at a local farm in exchange for free produce. If you have expertise in some area, consider hosting a website to sell your knowledge to others. If you don’t have money, can you trade services with others to get what you need?
There are bullish markets somewhere, you just have to seek them out.
Clear Out the Negativity:
If we focus on negative, we tend to remember everything we have done wrong. In reality, we may make far better decisions, but we forget to appreciate our ability to do so.
Last year, I attempted to learn day-trading, and I felt that I totally failed, however when I completed my tax return, I realized that I had not truly lost money.
Not In A Desirable Situation?
Don’t let your situation define you, rather look inside yourself and decide on who you are and what you truly want to do with your life. Don’t mistake your impatience for an obstacle. Don’t mistake new challenges as sign of impending failure. Sometimes, the most difficult challenges have the biggest rewards. Other times, when you do fail, it might just mean that it really wasn’t something you truly desired or needed.
Be Positive About Your Attempts:
Don’t discredit your attempt as failure. It’s just a chance to practice reaching our goals.
Jack Canfield, the author of “Chicken Soup for the Soul” was rejected by 123 publishers, before someone published his book. The “Chicken Soup” series has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide.
Try to be Positive About Everything And Appreciate the People Who Can Show You the Way:
Sometimes, it’s good for the “bad things” to happen now rather than later because you might have ended up losing more in the long run.
If you feel that you aren’t sure of a path or if you are able to do something, seek out those that are able to teach you. If people don’t appreciate you or aren’t willing to help you then let them go. People generally won’t tell others their secrets out of fear that you will do better than they will. Appreciate them for what they will teach you and move on to pursuing something that is right for you. With personal relationships, if you’re in love but you’re miserable inside, move on. You don’t deserve disrespect from others. Sometimes, we know deep inside we settle for less, don’t allow yourself to do so, you deserve more!

I don’t think you can get it retail anymore. I would not buy it. There has been so much constitutional law changes since 1996 that the book is horribl outdated. A quick look at Amazon shows the 5th edition is in print.
When I was in law school (and graduated in 2002), I believe I used the 4th ed. I sold it when I was done with the class for probably 25 bucks. So the previous edition would be worth a WHOLE lot less. You should get it for free at this point.
Check out http://www.wiley.com. This is one of the main publishers of college business textbooks. You can read the descriptions and check out the sites for each book. Then go to amazon or half and pick up a used copy for a few bucks. These generally go into more detail than the average bookstore business books.
Where have you looked and what bookshops?
I know for a fact that that specific book is available at Van Schaik Bookshops in the Neelsie at Stellenbosch University.
Are you looking to read a guide to something, or to write one?
If you are planning on writing one, then you should flip through each different book and see what fits your personal style. They all have their own flair to them. Then find out their submission guidelines, and if they deal with unagented work or not. Do your research to create the best possible proposal package suited to their specification!
If you need to read one, I have personally been partial to the Idiots Guides. Every one that I’ve read has been excellently designed and written. They are clear and to the point. Never been disappointed!
Happy reading!
you should try it
There are two routes: literary agents or small book publishers. You need to send a query letter, usually one page, to a LA (most are in Manhattan, NYC, the capital of American book publishing). In the letter you have to give a brief synopsis of your story idea and your credentials. Credentials are qualifications, meaning prior publishing experience. If you have had a slew of short stories professionally published (in literary magazines not web sites), this looks good on your query letter. You have talent. It’s not all about writing well, it’s also about the commercial feasibility of your idea. A LA is the key to the big publishing houses like Scribner & Sons, DoubleDay, Random House, etc. Those big houses won’t look at any query unless it was handed to them by a LA. Then there is the small publishing houses scattered through the country. These houses prefer a writer than writes well although some prefer profound thinking writers. With small houses visit their web sites and click on the submission guidelines. And follow it exactly when submitting. Sometimes small houses prefer to deal with a LA but will look at an interested query especially if the writer has been published numerous times before in well respected publications. Don’t, whatever you do, don’t self publish unless you are willing to part with a few thousand dollars and have you family and friend be your only customers. A publishing house is ideal but a big publishing house has marketing teams that would promote your book and get it placed in the front section of book stores. Also big houses have public relations experts who get the daily newspapers and the television stations to promote your book. And best of all the big houses have crackerjack, top of the line editors who know how to polish prose. Needless to say, it’s a hyper competitive field with about one in a thousand books professionally published. Not as competitive as music or show business, but not too far from those fields.
If you deal with reputable publishers, they do NOT steal work. Their career and the company would be ruined. The court settlement would be worth far more to the original author than it would ever have earned the thief.
Your work has copyright protection as soon as it is written down. You do not need to register the copyright until there is a need to do so (normally when getting published, and a reputable publisher does this for you). If your work were to be stolen, you have an allowable period of time to then register the work in order to pursue legal action.
As for mailing a copy to yourself (known as a poor man’s copyright), that is a MYTH. It does NOT register a copyright. It does NOT give you any legal protection. It does NOT even prove you wrote it. And since an empty envelope can be mailed and work inserted and sealed later, it doesn’t even prove you had possession of the work on that posted date.
You don’t break copyright laws when lending books. There is still only one book. No copy has been made.
A lot of times people who don’t want to believe downloading music from torrent sites is illegal argue “what about libraries”. The bottom line is that there is still only one book, even though you can be read and borrowed by many people. At the end of the day, no copies have been made and only one person at a time can use it. This is totally different from downloading music where many copies are made and multiple people can use it simultaneously.
go to amazon.com and enter the book title or author. hope you find what you are looking for. if that doesn’t work try goggling it.
Protection under copyright law rests on something called “original authorship.” A compilation, such as a recommended book list,” can be protected under copyright law if it contains a new work of authorship. Keep in mind that the threshold for authorship is relatively low — what the U.S. Supreme Court calls “a modicum of creativity.”
Generally speaking, a modicum of creativity in the selection, arrangement, and/or coordination of data is sufficient for protection under copyright law. From what you describe, the professor’s recommended book list is likely protected under copyright law. In this case, original authorship was involved in deciding which books to include, which categories to use, and in what order to present the books within the recommended book list.
More information concerning compilations can be found in the Copyright Office circular linked below regarding derivative works.

Copyright law on “recommended book lists”?
Through a friend of a friend I obtained a set of lists of recommended children’s literature, broken up into multiple categories — alphabet books, poetry books, wordless books, etc. A professor at a public (if it matters) university compiled the lists.
I contacted the professor to see if he would allow me to distribute the list to my moms group and also asked if he would provide the list in electronic form. I was surprised when he asked me not to do this because “it would not be fair to the students who paid to take [his] class”.
Is a list of available books covered by copyright law? There are no reviews of the books — simply a listing of the title, author, publisher, and year of publication. . .but as mentioned above the list is broken into categories.
Any advice/wisdom would be appreciated.
Thanks!
I am looking for the book: Law of Intellectual Property et al 2005 Klopper H B?
Have tried all the bookshops and even the publisher. Nothing. Any other suggestions where I can find the book?
When submitting a book to a publisher, what stops the publisher from stealing the book?
When submitting a book to a publisher, what stops the publisher from publishing the book under the name of one of their directors and effectively “stealing” your work? I know there is probably some copyright law, but how is it enforced?
Does the Copyright law apply to Libraries when the books are lent?
Say if I have a large collection of books can I start a library and charge money for lending books? Isn’t copyright law involved here? Can books be lent freely without obtaining permission from the publishers?
Could I sue the “Bible” book publishers for negligence?
In Australia, even hitting your child with a wooden spoon will get you arrested for assault. (I just read of a father being charged in the newspaper).
Imagine a scenario where I was a parent, and I decided to hit my child for mis-behaving with a rod. (The bible says it’s okay for disciplining your child with a rod-like object).
“‘Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. You shall beat him with a rod, and deliver his soul from hell’.”
Could I sue the book publisher of the bible since it told me to do it? Isn’t that negligence if you’re publishing a book that’s telling people to do things which break the law?
Spyro – we don’t have the first ammendment in Australia. It’s illegal to tell people to do things which are illegal.
It also says this in the new testament but I cant be bothered trying to find quotes for it.
Update – I’m not sure if it’s illegal to publish books which are illegal, but Im sure there must be a law about publishing things that encourage violence.
Are there any good book publishers that will pay me?
Hi.
I’m trying to get published and have only found publishers whom I would have to pay hundreds of dollars before they would assist me. I’ve heard of other publishers who sign contracts and pay authors for their books, but I haven’t had any luck at finding these kinds of publishers.
I’ve included a brief overview to part of my book, just so you can understand why I would want a good enough publisher considering I would like this to become a movie as soon as I can get the book out there. The book itself will be entitled With All Risks or W.A.R.
A second U.S. civil war has been spawned by a corrupt president, where massive riots spawn out in large cities due to unreasonable taxes and curfew laws. As the rioting begins the military is ordered to decimate entire cities to stop rioting, but the military refuses. Loyalist forces are then ordered to destroy disobedient military units and civilian rioters, However, upon hearing this the disobedient military units pack up their equipment and join the rioters, giving the rioters Aircraft Carriers, Abrams Main Battle Tanks, Attack and transport helicopters, stealth fighters and bombers, and every other piece of equipment currently available to U.S. military today. The rioters are now known as the Rebel Militia Force (RMF)
A bomb containing the protine Prion–which causes encephalopathy (mad cow disease) is detonated in NYC, the RMF headquarters turning every person and animal in the blast radius into flesh eating zombies.
And that’s only the beginning.
Can anyone help me find a special book?
My mother-in-law had one of her books in a series misplaced and we are desperatly looking for it. I have searched Ebay, google, book stores and it is sooo hard to find. It is a set of 5 I believe and they are How and Why books and the publisher is DL.J. Bullard Co. If anyone has any ideas that would be great!
There is no author…The books are a series of combind stories…The other books in the series are called the same thing…How and Why and it only has a publisher, they are from between 1920-1940. Ive searched google and the publisher…I know how to search, but was I said this is a HARD BOOK TO FIND!
