Structure of Book Report Writing!
Author: Jenny Stewart
Book report writing can be tricky as students mix the concepts of book reports and book reviews with each other. This will make them confuse afterwards. A book report can be divided into three major portions,
Introduction
Body
Conclusion
Introduction
Write a strong paragraph that states the book’s title (underlined or italicized), genre, author’s name, and publication information. Also give a brief statement about the book’s angle or message. This section of book report writing may include characters involves in the story and the theme of the story.
The book report introduction has to be strong and informative. It has to give the basic book information and has to state the book’s message. It may include your personnel opinion on it and tell the readers what you are going to analyze. It’s important to realize that when giving information on the book and author, avoid spilling facts like his biography and previously written works.
The Body
Writing a book report is no doubt a tricky work. The body part is the main and biggest part of your book report writing. You have to put all the analysis and opinions in this area. While writing this part of book report, consider the questions like
Is this book worth to read?
How was the writing style and flow of events?
Is it a fictional book or non-fictional
These points will give you enough data to write two to three paragraphs regarding the book. When ending the body of book report answer the following points.
How was the ending of the book?
if it’s a non fiction book, how much writer was successful in conveying his idea?
What are some of the notable or interesting facts you get from the book?
What is your personnel opinion regarding the book?
The Conclusion
The conclusion is the ending part of your book report writing project. In this area conclude your report with a paragraph or two that covers additional points but don’t give anything new. Every time you write a book report, in the ending lines offer a one sentence summary with your overall opinion about the book.

The printers key, also known as the number line, is a convention that publishers started to use after World War II (1945) to indicate the print run of a book. It is found on the copyright page (the verso of the title page).
The purpose of this arrangement is to keep the line of numbers roughly centered even as the numbers are removed with subsequent printings.
If “1” is seen then the book is the first printing of that edition. If it is the second printing then the “1” is removed. Which means that the lowest number seen will be “2”.
Assuming the book is written, and copyright has been obtained, then you need to do the following
1. Contact your ISP about obtaining a domain name
2. Advertise on the page.
3. For payment purposes, set up a paypal account….or get a post office box and have people send cheques there.
I have written a couple of books as well, and sold them online. I used other people’s websites as a conduit for sales and rather than deal with online payment systems, I received cheques, and once the cheque cleared, I sent them the book. Most of the people who bought the first book, also bought the 2nd book.

an agent is ideal, but not necessary at the start. Submit to publishers that read unsolicited manuscripts (ie not requiring an agent), you probably won’t get picked up right away, but you never know. Main thing to remember, money flows TO the author, any publisher that asks for money upfront is not something you want to deal with (ie vanity publishing). IF and when you do find a publisher that’s interested, then an agent might be in order to deal with all the legal aspects of publishing.
Pick up a Writer’s market mag, something like Writer’s Digest and start subbing to publishers.
Good luck

First you have to finish writing, and edit it to the best of your ability. No reputable publisher or agent will look at unfinished work from an unproven author. Editing is just as important as getting the first draft of the story down on paper. Publishing comes later. Publishing is a business, and if a publisher does not think they can make money off your idea then they will not pay you for it.
There are two types of publishing, traditional and self-publishing. If you choose to go with self-publishing, I would recommend http://www.lulu.com as a great site. They don’t pretend to be anything they are not, and have excellent service. All the decisions will be in your hands. However, going with a company like this is a difficult road and it is not considered a publishing credential if you look to go traditional down the road. Here is some other information about the downside of self-publishers (also known as vanity presses):

As far as novels go, different publishers specialize in different things, and fiction is a broad world. You have to try and sell your material to companies that produce similar works (ie, don’t try and sell a fantasy novel to a romance publisher). So do your homework. Take a look at the most recent “Writer’s Market”… or even better, try the “Guide to Literary Agents”.
I absolutely suggest getting an agent instead of approaching publishers directly. I’m assuming you are not a contract attorney, so you will need someone to look over any offers and to guide you through the publishing world.
No publisher or agent should charge you any money up front! That is the sign of a scam! They make money by selling your book. Agents work on a commission (generally 15% of the amount of money the publishers pay you).
Make sure that you follow their exact submission specifications. You can’t send them your book, but you should be sending them a query letter (Nicholas Sparks has a good example on his website). Don’t copyright your book first, it looks amateur and would cause them trouble down the line when you do the revisions they ask for. Do not bind it into a book if and when they ask to see it, send loose pages. These are easier for them to deal with.
Here are some websites that can help. Read them thoroughly and research, research, research! Pay special attention to Miss Snark, because her archives can answer any question you ever have about publishing:

You can try the Library of Congress’s catalog, but you need to at least know who published it. There are several copies of it available from various publishers, so you need to make sure you at least have the one you’re writing about. You just need to select Basic Search on the catalog’s main page, then type in the title (without the preceding article, “The”), and it’ll show you a bunch of listings. Select the one you want, and it’ll give you an abbreviated list of publishing information, usually the important information. Use of the catalog is free to the public.

Good luck!
No, type it out on a computer. More than 90% of authors prefer this, including me. I only write rough drafts of some chapters on paper.
You can get a list of publishers here: http://www.lights.ca/publisher/
But first, I would recommend you to suscribe to Writers Market, which will be better for you or just search straightaway for an agent:
http://www.firstwriter.com/Agents/
Title page verso-
Look on the back of the title page in very small print
the copyright is the date after a very tiny “c” in a circle
(be cafeful of reprints and copyright of cover art.
There are two types of publishing: Tradition and Self-Publishing. You will first need to decide which of these methods you want to pursue. Each has advantages and disadvantages that need to be researched. For instance, traditional publishing can be a very long road, littered with MANY rejections. Self-publishing will guarantee you a printed copy of your book, however you will not see it in a brick-and-mortar bookstore.
http://www.lulu.com is, in my opinion, the best self-publisher around. You can set up your book on their website, for free, and they will print copies as they are purchased. They do not edit your book, so you will need to take care of that on your own. This will also NOT get your book in a traditional bookstore, although you can purchase a very affordable package that would allow sale of your book through online bookstores like Amazon.
“Writer’s Market”, along with “The Guide to Literary Agents” are my two suggestions for diving into the traditional publishing market. I suggest looking for an agent first because they are the best step through the publishing door. You will create a submission package that matches the agents preferences (some, for instance, just want a query letter and summary in your first contact with them while others want more). Once you find an agent that is willing to represent you, they will market your book to publishers. Remember, in traditional publishing you should not be paying for anything! They get paid when you get paid!
Unfortunately I can not recommend any specific agents or publishers because I know nothing about your book. Different publishing houses specialize in different types of books, so I would have very different options if I wrote a romance novel versus a science fiction adventure.
Keep in mind that publishing traditionally is a very long road. You will recieve many rejections, as does EVERY author. It may help if you start submitting short stories and/or poetry that you have written to magazines and journals (which you can also find in “Writer’s Market”). Agents really like to see people with previous publishing credits– it means that your work really will sell!
Lastly, check out the website Preditors and Editors to help you avoid any scams:

Good luck, and keep writing and editting.
Harcort was the publisher, it went out of business and is now succeeded by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Their headquarters was in San Diego, California.
Have a look at the FT and the Guardian, I think you’ll find it has allowed publishers to come closer to their customers saving the costs of mediators, it has allowed for products (particularly journals and other professional and higher education materials) to be more customised and has allowed publishers to make higher profits due to less stockage and printed paper costs. I think you’ll also find 3 school education publishers are currently on sale because they have not been able to keep up with the ebusiness trend, as their market does not allow them to.
I don’t think it has affected print trade much as people still like to read a book or a newspaper first hand and be able to put it aside and come back to it whenever. But check WHS Smith Story and the Independent books store stories … a bit sad. Check the Pearson Story for the .com fiasco within the FT and have a look at the AMAZON story.
