Publish My Book
Self Publish My Book
Author: M.c.
There are many factors to consider when choosing self publishing or subsidy-publishing versus traditional publishing for your book. Self publishing is when the author owns his own ISBN number and then pays someone to do the layout and printing of his book.
When you are trying to decide what type of publisher to use for your book, you should examine such things as who owns the rights to your book. Some traditional companies will tie up the rights for as many as seven years.
So I decided to take on some popular self publishing myths. One myth is that it will cost you a fortune. This is not true because you can actually set your own budget. You can choose how much you want to spend on printing, cover design, editing and marketing.
Another common myth is that publishing is hard. When the truth of the matter is that it is pretty simple actually, since you can get a team of professionals to do all the work for you. Just do your homework first and make sure you select the right people for the job.
There is also the myth that self published books do not sell. The only reason they would not sell is like with any other book, if they are not properly marketed. You can even have your book available for order anywhere worldwide, if you so wish.
As you can see you do not have to be really concerned when it comes to making the decision to publish your book by yourself. Just make sure you have the right resources and your book will do just as well as if it had been distributed the traditional way.
