Audio Book Downloads: Easy And Educational
Author: Bill Urell
Is reading becoming a hassle? Do you find yourself not having time to read all you want to? There is a simple, yet high tech solution. Learn to enjoy the luxury of having your favorite books read to you by using an audio book download.
Educational audiobooks have the same content as written books. Yet, they are different in form and function in that you can get the content by merely listening. Yes, audio books are actually books that are read aloud. The great thing about audiobooks is that you get the contents of a book by merely playing the audio files in your personal computer, CD player or even your beloved mp3 or iPod.
Ever try reading while driving? Not recommended. This technology of audiobooks allows you to have both hand free while listening to a book. Does the idea of using the treadmill and listening to a book appeal to you? If you are on your home and are caught in traffic, fumbling with glasses or pages flipping is a thing of the past. Just click on your portable audio player, and voila, you are actually reading a book.
Downloadable audio books
Audiobooks were introduced over twenty years ago and have been improving ever since At first audiobooks were produced as cassette tapes, thank goodness we skipped the old 8- tracks. More recently they moved to comact disc format.
Now, audio books can be downloaded online. Because of the simplicity of delivery, more and more titles are being offered. You can read your favorite author’s novels, or learn from history publications.
Audiobooks using the CD format are the bulk of audio books sold around the world. Not very far behind is the cassette formats, but the real mover and shaker is the downloadable file.
Statistics show that the use of downloads is rapidly increasing with the advent of portable audio media players such as iPod and mp3. Since audio book downloads are initially stored in the computer memory, players would easily access them. With the increasing trend for download transactions, people are starting to download these audio book files into other portable audio devices, and feel more comfortable about it.
Let’s look at some advantages.
First, downloadable audio books are more updated. The titles offered are wider in array and include newer releases.|Firstly, downloadable audio books tend to cover more current material. The titles offered are wider in scope and include best sellers.}
Second, the challenge of geographic locations are breached. That means, a US-printed book can easily downloaded by online users in Europe only within a few minutes. That would generate savings since the book reader would not have to shoulder shipment fees and would not wait long for the delivery.
These books are also easily accessible. Simply go to your favorite site, log in and in a few minutes you will have your copy. There are no rentals, returns or postage to be messing with. The best part for me is there is no waiting to get a copy or make payments.
Downloadable audio books are growing in popularity at an astonishing rate, and with good reason. It is the easiest and most efficient way to improve your mind or simply have fun.

Go to the reference section of the library and check out the LMP (Literary Market Place). It has a listing of every publisher in the United States as well as what type of books they publish. You can also find the names of all literary agents in the U.S. as well and you don’t have to pay to hire one. The standard in the industry is they take 15% of whatever money you are paid from the publisher and it’s much easier to get your foot in the door with an agent.
Good luck!
Try here
Go to your local library; go to the section that you’re specialising in and look for similar books and note down who the publishers are and then contact them.
Yes at the same time he did not allow to be printed how he caused 911.
“Safe” ways to learn the alphabet?
What on earth would a dangerous way be? “A is for alligator, let’s go feed them by hand”?
Anyway, now I’ve finished sniggering at your sales patter (which may well be what the agents and publishers are doing), how about approaching playgroups and toddler groups and offering to do a free demonstration session with the kids there? If it’s good and the kids enjoy it, the parents might buy the book.
From what you’ve said I gather you’d like to have it printed for a small audience, correct? Well, if that’s the case, you should look for vanity publishers: print on demand companies and the like. If you’re hoping to make money off of it then this won’t be right for you, but if you’re just hoping to have your book in print and available, then it’s perfect. The typical way these companies work is by payment first, and a chosen amount of printed copies. Afterward you can have certain quantities printed on your demand, or have the book on the web, where someone can choose to buy it and only then does the press print a copy.
Like I said, if you want to make a buck then it’s not worth it. But if all you want is for children to read your book, vanity press is perfect for you. It’s not cheap, of course, but it’ll get your book into print immediately.
Now, if you were hoping to have a wider audience for your book — and you wanted to make money — there’s the traditional publication route. This path takes far too much explaining for me to hand you the information — if even the space was allowed in my answer-box. As such, you’d do best to look at literary agent blogs and websites on traditional publication.
Best of Luck,
William W. Warhall.
For agents and publishers check out the Writer’s Market series. If you are just looking for people to read and review your book, try writing.com, or even some friends.
First, don’t worry about the ‘educational value’.
The habit of reading is worthwhile developing in and of itself. Just make sure that the reading level is a little higher than they can comfortably manage. And don’t scoff at comic books – I got my son who hated reading at age 6 to devour comics; he now reads just about anything in print (including e-books).
Try, though, to push them towards subjects they are interested in – my son’s were science and computing, so he had lots of SF/Fantasy comics, and a fair number of books on mathematics (ways of doing arithmetic that would not be taught in schools, games that prompted him to think outside the norm, and stories of people who developed computers).
You could start by writing up some proposals, with sample chapters, and submitting them to publishers you work with.
If you mean you want to self-publish, I’m not sure that’s wise. You’ll get your stuff much more widely distributed through an educational publisher.
But if that’s what you want to do, make sure you test everything, and have other teachers test them as well, in a variety of settings.
Then revise based on how things actually went.
Also, familiarize yourself with the guidelines for your state, and some other states, so you know you meet them.
But I still think you should work with an existing publisher.
If any of your ideas involve math, get in touch with Key Curriculim Press. You can read on their website about how to submit ideas. (You can probably find that out on any publisher’s web site.)
Also, since you have contacts, talk to them, especially the editors, for feedback on how to make your work acceptable to publishers.
If you publish yourself, you’ll have to invest a lot of money, and have no guarantee you’ll get it back. If you publish through a publisher, all that becomes their problem.
Until you get well established and well known, you will likely need to contact prospective institutions one-on-one. You might be able to bag several schools at once by going to the Board of Directors in a particular district and getting your productions sold bulk and exclusive to the schools in that zone. Good luck.
As for copyrighting, you need to go through the copyright office and have that done. Your work will require some scrutiny to ensure it is authentic and original to you.
I write really good educational books for children. How do I get them published? What are the steps?

Copyrighting and selling educational resources??
I currently produce educational resources in the form of PowerPoints for pupils aged 14-16, and have been told by the Head of the Dept. that i should try to sell these PowerPoints on to other schools and possibly the publishers of the core text book etc.
I was just wondering if anyone could shed any light as to the path i should follow (like who to contact etc) and any problems i might face in doing so.
I’m based in the UK.
Thanks xx
How do I market and sell worldwide my unique children’s educational and exercise book?
I’ve written a children’s educational and exercise book for two to four year olds which teaches the alphabet and provides safe, fun and easy to do exercises starting with each letter. My book combines education, exercise and entertainment to encourage children’s learning and fitness and aims to develop a strong bond between parent and child from learning and playing together.
I’ve self published and can’t get a toe in the door to any literary agent or publisher! Any ideas on how I can mass market and sell my book on a very limited budget?

Can anyone recommend good educational books for children to read over half-term?
I’m a mother of four (with ages ranging from 4 to 12 years) and was just wondering if anyone could recommend any good educational books for my children (two girls, two boys) to read and keep them entertained over half-term? I work for a publishers and was just wondering if anyone would be able to help me out?
Thanks so much for all these suggestions – they’ve been great help! It’s not that I want everything to be educational, it’s just when I’ve tried to get them more into reading (especially my 2 youngest) they get quite restless, so I need something that captures their attention and gives them activities to do too. I know the Bayard magazines are good for this as they combine fiction with non-fiction and games and activities, and Horrible Histories but I just wondered if anyone knew of any others?
did george bush pass a law that states educational books can’t talk about condoms and other contraceptoin?
our school just ordred books on ‘life skills’ for teenagers. It’s from a major educational publisher. I’m to give a sex education talk, and the section on safe sex talks about:
Having good friends, abstinence and taking up a hobby – this was in the section on preventing diseases. There was not one mention of any form of contraception.
My colleagues in America said it was George Bush who caused this.
I’m recommending our school return the books.
Oh, and I’m not making this up. Next time I’ll bring a copy home from work and publish the name, authors and publisher.
How do I find a publisher?
I recently finished a children’s book and was wondering how would I go about getting a publisher. The book is educational and for 2nd and 3rd graders. The illustrations are complete and it has also been edited. Recently, I also took it to a summer camp to read it to children and they were very excited and loved the story plot.
Does anyone have any ideas?
