List Of Literary Agents In The Uk
Finding A Literary Agent
Not every writer needs an agent, but if you do, there are some things you need to know â” up front!
The first thing every writer needs to know is what a literary agent is, and why you might need one. A literary agent is the person who represents writers and their written work to publishers, and producers. An agentâs job is to promote your work. They can help get your work in front of publishers who do not accept unagented submissions, provide valuable career advice on contracts, and help you to get the best possible price for your work. Agents are usually paid a percentage of the proceeds of the sales that they negotiate for their writer clients (usually 15 – 20%). Working with the right agent can often make the difference between a mediocre career and a bankable author.

Can all the literary agents listed in the Writers’ and Artists’ Yearbook 2008 be trusted (UK version)?
Or is there a chance that some of them might be vanity publishers. As I understand it its a reliable series, just wanted to make sure.
Am pretty sure you can be confident that those listed are genuine and respected publishers. Writers and Artists has advice on self-publishing and avoiding vanity publishers. Think those listed are respectable.
You need a copy of The Writers and Artists Year Book, it has lists of agents and publishers, what type of writing they accept, how to submit it and who to etc. I bought my copy cheaply off Ebay or go to your local library they should have one.

As the title mention, I need infos abt editors & even literary agents in Belgium,France, Germany, Holland or UK, ^^ it will be better if it’s just in those countries, names, addresses, e-mails & anything like this, will be so helpful and useful, thank you!, thx for those who’ll help.
How to find a literary agent?
I thought finding the appropriate agency for me would be easy, considering a lot of my American pals seem to find loads to send queries to, but here in the UK I can’t find any and if I do, they don’t take on what I’m offering. It’s more than frustrating.
Is there a site out there which gives a list of UK agencies for writers of fiction? Even better still if they have categories such as romance, young adult etc.
Cheers in advance.
Well, which one do you want?
Editors and agents in Germany aren’t going to have any interest in something which isn’t written in German. If they are in France, they’ll want it in French. And so on. This is just a ridiculously wide requirement.
