Does anyone know any good Christian literary agents who like Appalachian women’s fiction?
And are actively looking for authors?
Lol. You were misdirected. You don’t find literary agents on Answers, not legit ones anyway. They certainly wouldn’t be emailing you: you seek them out and email them. There are many Christian literary agents. Are you looking for Christian people or those that represent Christian literature? There are some Christian publishers that take unagented manuscripts. I’ve come across them before, but I can’t remember where I found them. Make sure they pay a royalty and advance and that they can get your book in bookstores. The Mormon Church has a publishing company, so you might want to look into it. I can’t remember the name, but they’re legit and a few of their books have made the best sellers list.
I highly suggest you research publishing. It’s full of scams and con artists, and if you try to jump into it without knowledge of it then you’re going to be taken advantage of.
Good luck, though.
Are there any Christian Literary Agents on here?
If so please email me, i was led to go here and ask, dont know why, but thanks
Visit http://www.agentquery.com or, at the library or bookstore, look for Jeff Herman’s Guide to Literary Agents, Writer’s Market 2010 or Bowker’s Literary Marketplace. When you find an agent who handles your genre, read, and follow, their submission guidelines.
Blech, don’t submit to Focus on the Family- at least, not if you want anyone to respect your writing. I mean, these are the people who went around saying that Spongebob Squarepants promoted the “homosexual agenda.”
To my knowledge, many of the largest publishing houses have smaller offshoots that specialize in different areas, including Christian fiction. I’d contact the major publishing houses and see what they have.
Christian literary agents?
Hi, we are desperately looking for a Christian literary agency in the UK to submit our book idea to…does anyone have any ideas?
I can’t think of a valid reason the beliefs of your agent enter into the mix. I would think that ideally you’d want an agent who is able to sell your book to Christian publishers who can place it in bookstores, including Christian outlets. The agent who is able to do that might not be Christian.
What I’d do, if I were you, is visit bookstores large and small, noting the titles, authors, and publishers of the Christian books for sale. Check the dedication or acknowledgements pages, since agents may be thanked by name.
At home again, I’d get online. At their websites, I’d determine whether the Christian publishers accept manuscripts only from agents or whether I might deal with them directly. If I do need an agent, I’d use a good search engine and seek the word “agent” in combination with each Christian author’s name.
Best of luck.
Heyya, the personal beliefs of a literary agent don’t even figure into the picture. Any good agent can sell a first-rate manuscript to the big Christian publishers, so seek the best agent you can identify, rather than an agent who’s Christian or who specializes in Christian work.
How? Identify what Christian books are in the stores right now. Note the titles, authors’ names, and publishers.
Back home, spend some time doing online searches to determine which agents sold those books to those publishers. Those are the ones you’ll target.
Does anyone know any literary agents/publishers intrested in christian fiction manuscripts?
